Meet Me...

Picture
My name is Glyn Allen, aka Glyne or Glyn Eastwood. My buddies back at University gave me both of those nicknames. I was born on January 15th 1981. My life has been very colorful since childhood... though I didn’t always appreciate it.

At the age of 7 I was diagnosed as having Dyslexia. It didn't take long before the mild depression I was suffering would become a much darker depression with the sudden realization that I was “different” and it was then that the self imposed isolation and suicide thoughts really started to dominate my mind.

Kids can be curl IF you are "disabled" or are somehow different in some way... and they where... but not as cruel as I was to myself. I became my chef persecutor. With each miss read word or each mathematical miss hap I became more and more depressed. I did everything I could to try and avoid the pain of accidence touchier... even lashing out at those who would try and help me.

At 18 I started working in a local grocery store. I was a non reader and the fear of discovery kept me isolated. But over time I started to emerge from my shell and others started coming to me with their pains. It was then that I learned that no matter how “together” a person looks on the outside... there are things on the inside that you can’t always see. Soon I would discover that pain is universal... but it’s what you decide to do with pain that matters.

It wasn't long before my friends started encouraging me to go to school to become a counselor. I had secretly wished to study psychology for some time... people fascinated me... and yes... at times frustrated me. Especially in the area of dating. It was then that I met my mentor Eben Pagan... a meeting that would become a major turning point in my life. Eben who I then knew under the pin name David DeAngelo was a dating coach for men. What David thought me was more then how to get a phone number or get a date with... “that girl” … he transformed me from the inside out. He didn't teach me to act like some one easels... he showed me how to become a better vision of myself... one that had a better relationship with myself.  He introduced me to other mentors along the way like Napoleon Hill and Jim Rohn and others.

At 20 with the help of David DeAngelo's eBook I had learned to read on a functional level and headed off to school. My road into the university was not an easy one... after sitting out a couple years because of health issues I returned to school with the intent of transferring from the School of Applied Studies to the University... with my academic history they told me that it would take about 3 good years to build up my GPA enough to transfer into the university. I did it in only 2 semesters. To do this I lived for my grades.  I skipped meals to allow more time for study... I locked myself away from others and gave my all to fulfilling my mission.  With my academic struggles I had to work harder and longer to get  my A's but I managed A's and B's. All of this and the stress that came with it took a great tole on my health.  I'm 5' 7" and don't think I have ever weighed more then 135 in my life... but my weight plummeted in to the 90's.

Ever since stumbling upon David DeAngelo's ebook I have been abscessed with trying to get the most living out of life by becoming happier, healthier, wealthier. By journey of discovery has introduced me to Dr. Daniela G. Amen work with brain SPECT imaging to try and better understand how the brain works and how heal and help maximize brain function... for myself and others. I have learned about how to increase my energy levels and lift my mood and overall health with better nutrition and superfoods... including chocolate!  Jordan Rubin and David Wolfe are two other mentors that have helped me tremendously in other area of teaching me how to eat better better by choosing better foods.

My life has been truly blessed by so many different people. Many I call friends, mentors and family. And here on the GetAttitude Blog it is my pleasure to introduce those same people to you.  Many of them have free e-newsletters, and videos I highly recommend.  In the interest of full disclosure I feel its only rite to say that if you click on a link in this blog and make a perchuse on the other end I may but not always get a small commission of the sale of the product.  That being said  making any commission off the sale of any of these products is not my aim... just a nice beniffate  My real aim it to try and help you get more living out of the time you have been given.

I deeply appreciate all the individuals involved in my life and those who’ve encouraged me along the way to be the best person I can be. Without many of you, my life may have not blossomed the way it has. I hope that I can in some way take some of what I have learned from my mentors and somehow  make your life just a little bit better and your day just a little bit brighter. If you find something of some value here in this blog… fell free to pass it around… link to it… post it on your blog or tweet it on twitter.  Book mark it and come back often… and drop me a line... Glyn Allen
